Hello and welcome.
I'm Alicia, Speech and Language Therapist. I specialise in helping people with Parkinson's Disease, Multiple Sclerosis and other neurological conditions find their speaking power again, so you can confidently engage in life and express yourself better.
I am a Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT LOUD® / LSVT eLOUD®) certified clinician.
Have you noticed some changes in your voice and speech - either mild or more noticeable? Are you feeling unheard? Does a soft, quiet voice or slurred speech leave you feeling isolated and frustrated? Is it impacting how you communicate with people one-to-one, in groups, on the phone and in noisy environments? Perhaps people are always asking you to repeat yourself, to speak up. You may feel that people are not responding to things you say and you're becoming more reluctant to socialise and speak because it feels like such an effort.
You deserve to be heard!
Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT LOUD®)
This is an intensive, evidence-based speech therapy programme designed to improve vocal loudness, articulation, intonation and intelligibility in individuals with Parkinson's disease (PD) and other neurological disorders. Its unique approach focuses on recalibrating your perception of your voice, enabling you to speak at a healthy and normal audible level in various social contexts.
It is designed to help people experiencing mild to severe changes in their voice and speech.
LSVT LOUD has demonstrated efficacy in PD populations and emerging evidence suggests its benefit for patients with atypical parkinsonisms (e.g. PSP) and speech impairments due to Stroke or Multiple Sclerosis.
